An Achievement

The image of the galaxy gallery came to mind after reading Shakespeare's quote,

"You may know what you are but know not what you may be."

I had this strong urge to paint what I visualized after realizing that the galaxy clearly represent the quote. We know it has stars but we are limited to only what we know and we are yet to know what else could it possibly holds.

I believe it is the same application for all of us. Our calling and purpose in life will eventually fall into place after we continue on pursuing our dreams and goals.

The sole purpose of this painting was to be placed as a background design for the stage of my Grade 12 graduation located in Broadview School. It was celebrated on the 4th of June 2021.

I found it funny because I was a stage designer when I joined Drama Club in High School. I only volunteered to join just for the fun of it and my teachers entrusted me with such a specific role because of my talent for art.

After quarantined and we came back to school with the condition of wearing masks, I lost my motivation in so many things back then. I felt like I lost my passion for art, until the quote that was picked by my class for our graduation inspired me. The graduation day was in eight days and many people discouraged me that I would not make it. I kept believing on what I envisioned and I was able to accomplished it through my first gallery ever.

Looking back now, I only feel humbled and grateful to all the people in Broadview School that supported the idea of having my first gallery on their wall. I was so worried and being so conscious at the time to have the school's long-term mural be replaced with mine.

A student proclaimed, "You are leaving a legacy behind." It only made me courageous and confident to be able to hear that from someone younger than me. I always felt like schools have always been a home to me from the day I started loving books. Broadview School will always have my gratitude. It was due to their positive, loving and healthy environment that helped me grow to the person I am today.

The bigger picture of my puzzle pieces still stands firmly for my future goals. It only encourages me to one day build a school where it felt like a home surrounded by a caring family. I felt a strong sense of purpose that I must accomplish in my lifetime.

A proper school is the beginning of a peaceful World. It is very motivating when I can envision a bright future for everyone.
